Awareness Day 12th May
We run a local awareness event around this date. Have you any suggestions or tenuous links with a celebrity that could get the day rolling and interest local press. One suggestion has been a sponsored sleep-a-thon which seems particularly appropriate!
We always need volunteers to help out on the day. Please call the office ASAP if you are able to lend a hand.
The main focus for 12th May is to inform as many people as possible about M.E. and the daily effect on sufferers and carers' lives.
As you can see the blue ribbon is the emblem for this day, if you would like to purchase one (or many for all those family members!!) to show your support please contact the office as we have a great supply.
Awareness Day was created by BRAME (Blue Ribbon For The Awareness Of M.E.) and has been very successful over past years. The 12th of May was chosen to commemorate the birth date of Florence Nightingale who apparently contracted a M.E. like illness in her 30s.

Every month a draw will be made with at least two witnesses present. The person with the lucky number will get £50. The remainder of the money will go to Sutton M.E./C.F.S support group.
